Good morning, Vietnam. I'm getting ready for this webinar and came across this Marauders cover by Tony Moore and myself that I dont remember showing the final for. This was several months back, but the last "tradigital" attempt as it became clear that the time involved was becoming it's own entirely unjustifiable thing, and really easy to get lost in. In this case, I started digitally with flats and line holds, lightened it a bit, printed to comic board, then tried to build the richness and depth back up with water color pencil, primarily. Unfortunately, the result was really washed out and lacking any real dimension. Luckily, there was plenty of time in the schedule and I was able to place a scan back into my layered file in clip studio, re-emphasize the planes, lighting, and general punch of the piece, salvaging it. I'm not sure if or when I'll he ready to attempt something like this again, but maybe some of you can benefit from my near-failure and we'll all be better for it.
