Here’s the thing...There is a reason I don't give you a “7 days a week menu” when we are working together on your nutrition program. There is a reason I give you calories and a breakdown of macronutrients and not an "eat this everyday" plan. There is a reason I give you examples of what to choose from but tell you you are not "limited to the choices" I have shown you...there is a reason I put some of the planning into your hands. I used to do that for my clients, tell them exactly what to eat, when and "don't substitute anything...just eat this everyday and you will be successful" and you know what, the ones that did...were. BUT, and there is a big BUT, after our sessions were up and I sent my clients out into the real world to think for themselves after a few weeks of eating what they had been they fall off the wagon...HARD and a couple months later they were booking back in with me. So I had to ask myself, what can I do different to help my clients be successful long term? I shifted my purpose from "help them reach their goals" to "educate them to reach and surpass their goals"...and I STOPPED doing all the planning for them. I started working with my clients to develop plans on their own, with the foods they love in a healthy, balanced way. I started teaching how to get protein up (what foods are protein), when to eat starches (what are considered starches) and explaining he importance of vegetables, water etc. It is met with a lot of resistance at first...ill be honest, most of my clients BEG me to just tell them what to eat everyday and they will do it. BUT experience has to taught me that is NOT the way to do it. It is a lifestyle change and it has to fit their lifestyle...not what I think it should be. Stewed beans Served with some veggies, rice, and an avocado. ​ ​Stewed Beans 2 can pinto beans, rinsed and drained 1 tsp sazon (find a vegetable based one in the international aisle) 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp dried oregano 1 red onion, diced 1 can rotel (or store brand diced tomatoes with green chili peppers) 2 tsp capers (optional) 2 cups veggie broth 👏🏽 ​ Add onion to a pot and stir until fragrant. Add in seasonings and a splash of water and sauté until fragrance developed, about 2 minutes. Add in beans, tomatoes and capers. Stir to incorporate well and add in veggie broth. Bring mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Stir every few minutes to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pan and allow to cook for 15-20 minutes. With a back of a wooden spoon, lightly mash beans to thicken broth. Feel free to adjust liquid more to your liking. Remove from stove and stir. Serve with rice and extra veggies. 🥗 Makes about 4 servings. With the weather finally starting to warm up here in Melbourne, I felt like a quick and easy dinner. . For tonight’s dinner I tossed diced vegetables in some garlic infused olive oil, sprinkled some salt and pepper and roasted them for approximately 40 minutes. . When the vegetables were cooked through I heated a pan and cooked some delicious salmon fillets. . Quick, easy, tasty and full of healthy fats. Dinner was definitely a winner tonight 👌🏻😀

I've always loved avocados. My mother often reminds of a time when I was a child. I went for a playdate with one of my school friends. I was on prep at the time and the mother asked me what I'd like on my toast - jam, honey, vegemite, peanut butter... I paused for a moment and swiftly replied with, "Do you have any avocado?" The mother was a bit gobsmacked to say the least... But these days I haven't really changed. I love toast served with a genourous serving of 'smashed avacado" Meredith goats cheese and freshly cracked black pepper.👌 These little gems are absolutely chock full of nutrition too! They are suprisiny high in fibre - which keeps you full for longer, helps support a healthy microbiome and efficient detoxification. 🌿SALMON & DILL RILLETTES 🎄 . Hey everyone! Have you planned your food yet for Christmas? There’s one sure thing about the festive period…and that’s the need for quick, easy, healthier food choices you can whip up last minute! This one could become your fave Xmas nibbles or appetiser !🥂 . 🛒Here’s all you need: . 400g fresh salmon fillets 🐟 100g smoked salmon 1 lime 🍋 125g full fat Greek yoghurt 20g fresh dill Sprig of thyme🌱 Couple of bay leaves Black pepper . 👩‍🍳 Simple method . 1️⃣Bring a pan of water to simmer 2️⃣Add 2 bay leaves a sprig of thyme and half the dill. 3️⃣Add the salmon fillets, cover and cook for 10-15mins 4️⃣Once cooked, remove from the pan, remove the skin, add to a large bowl and breakdown with a fork 5️⃣Cut the smoked salmon into small pieces 6️⃣Add smoked salmon and Greek yoghurt to the large bowl and mix with poached salmon.
