At any point in the day—I like to ask twice each day, once in the morning during my waking life journaling and once at around 4pm while there’s still time enough to complete most tasks—this question: What would make today an 11 for me?
Alternatively, I ask: What could I do today that will move me toward my goals—it could be de-cluttering a storage space (helping me allow energy to flow more freely), it could be repainting a wall, or creating the first draft of a newsletter, ordering my annual credit report (adulting), or anything that offers a step toward meaningful progress.
Ask yourself: What’s a thing that MUST be done in order for me to achieve my goal of [your worthwhile goal]? Decide how much time you’re willing to spend doing it, and what time you’ll start the job. If it’s a big job, break it into steps and commit to doing one step each day.
