In my opinion, the healthiest “diet” or eating routine is one that: ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ 1️⃣ Includes variety⁣ 2️⃣ Doesn’t restrict⁣ 3️⃣ You’re happy with⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ If you allow yourself to eat ALL foods, there is less of a sense of deprivation and guilt surrounding food choices. There’s also less planning and obsessing around the clock ⏰ about what you CAN and CANNOT eat. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ You get to just eat food. ⁣🙌🏽 ⠀⠀⁣ Eat a variety everyday! A diet that ONLY includes vegetables 🥕 is not considered healthy, nor is a diet of only avocados 🥑. A healthy diet means eating a variety of foods daily; including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts/seeds, beans/legumes, meat/fish and donuts. 🍩⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ ✅ Whenever possible, try to aim for 3-4 components at each meal. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ And yes, sometimes that means a cookie or piece of chocolate as a component of your meal. HONEY MUSTARD CHICKEN WITH SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE RICE BOWLS.⁣ ⁣ Credit @ohsweetbasil 😍💪🏼 _⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS:⁣ 1 packet of Spinach & Artichoke Rice⁣ 2 Chicken Breasts⁣ 1 Large Sweet Potato, chopped⁣ 1 Small Zucchini, sliced⁣ 1/4 Cup Red Onion, sliced⁣ 1 Cup Grape Tomatoes, halved⁣ 3 Slices Cooked Bacon, chopped⁣ DRESSING⁣ 1/3 Cup Honey⁣ 3 Tablespoons Ground Mustard⁣ 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard⁣ 2 Tablespoons Avocado or Olive Oil⁣ 1 Tablespoon Honey Wine or Apple Cider Vinegar⁣ 1 Clove Garlic, minced⁣ Pinch of Salt⁣ DIRECTIONS:⁣ In a measuring cup, whisk together all of the ingredients for the dressing. Pour 1/3 into a ziptop bag with the chicken breasts.⁣ ⁣ Allow to marinate for 1 hour, or up to 24 hours.⁣ ⁣ Heat an oven to 400 degrees. Drizzle a little avocado or olive oil on the pan and toss the sweet potatoes until evenly coated. Sprinkle evenly with 1 teaspoon of salt. Roast for 20 minutes or until tender, remove from the oven.⁣ ⁣ Heat a skillet over high heat with 1-2 tablespoons of oil. Once shimmering, add the chicken, top side down, and turn the heat to medium low and cook for 6-7 minutes. See our chicken in a pan guide for further instruction on how to cook chicken perfectly without cutting into it.⁣ ⁣ Flip the chicken and continue to cook for 6-7 minutes or until cooked through. Set aside on a cutting board for 3-5 minutes to rest.⁣ ⁣ Add a little more oil to the pan and turn to medium heat. Add the zucchini and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cook, flipping occasionally until browned and tender, about 3-5 minutes.⁣ ⁣ Meanwhile, prepare the Knorr Selects Spinach & Artichoke rice according to package directions.⁣ ⁣ To assemble, place the rice in a dish and top with all other ingredients, chicken, zucchini, bacon, sweet potatoes, onions and tomatoes. This seafood stew is almost too beautiful to eat, @foodminimalist 😍⠀ ...⠀ "A mix of seafood in a fragrant, flavorful and tangy coconut-red curry broth full of aromatics--warming and perfect for this November chill and a possible snow shower later this week! Seafood includes a mix of Sizzlefish rockfish, shrimp, and squid. Feel free to replace with your favorite quick-cooking seafood such as clams, mussels, or another type of firm white fish.⠀ __________________⠀ In a stock pot, heat some oil on med-high, and sauté some minced ginger, 2 cloves garlic + shallots, along with 1 stalk of lemongrass chopped into 3-4 inch pieces + about 4-6 kaffir lime leaves. Cook until everything is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes, stirring often so the garlic doesn’t burn. Add in about 2-3 Tbsp red curry paste and about ½ tsp brown sugar. Continue to cook for another minute until the curry paste has darkened a bit and things are aromatic. Stir in a 15-oz. can of coconut milk and a splash of fish sauce, mix well with the curry paste and bring to a gentle boil. Then turn heat down as low as you can and simmer the coconut broth for about 15-20 min.⠀ __________________⠀ Pluck out the lemongrass + kaffir lime leaves, then stir in your preferred seafood + veg. For 2 servings, I used a mix of ¼ lb. of rockfish, ½ dozen shrimp, about ¼ lb. of squid, and a small chopped green pepper--green beans are a great substitute as well. Continue to simmer until everything is cooked through. Right before serving, stir in juice from 1 lime. Taste and add more fish sauce (or salt) if needed. Spoon into two bowls and top with fresh herbs like scallion, cilantro, shiso or basil leaves. Add in thinly sliced hot peppers + raw shallots also, if desired. Shrimp Tacos. I was grocery shopping at Whole Foods yesterday and was suckered into buying shrimp because it was on sale. These turned out awesome. I wasn’t going to post it but enough of you asked for it after seeing it in my story I figured I had to. When I’m cooking for myself I just mix stuff together. I don’t measure anything. The amounts below are estimates, just mix stuff together. It will turn out fine. @themealprepmanual⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS. Makes 6⁣ 6 Corn tortillas ⁣ 1 lb shrimp 26-30 count⁣ 2 tbsp Mayo⁣ 1 tbsp sambal oelek⁣ 1 tsp sriracha⁣ 1-2 tsp Honey⁣ 2 cups Coleslaw⁣ 1-2 tsp Olive oil⁣ 1-2 tsp Lime juice ⁣ Pickled red onions (recipe on my feed 3/19/19)⁣ Jalapeño ⁣ Cilantro ⁣ ⁣ PREP⁣ 1. Cook the shrimp any way you want. I grilled them. It doesn’t matter. It’s going on a taco covered in sauce.⁣ 2. Mix the sambal, sriracha, honey, and mayo in a bowl. Stir. Adjust flavors as necessary. Mix in shrimp. ⁣ 3. Toss oil and lime juice in coleslaw. Season with salt and pepper. Adjust flavors as necessary. ⁣ 4. Chop a jalapeño and cilantro.⁣ 5. Construct your taco. ⁣ ⁣ If you want the nutrition information you’ll have to calculate it yourself. Use MyFitnessPal or whatever you prefer. Believe it or not we live in an age where you can buy literally anything on the internet. You can find sambal on amazon if it’s not in your grocery store but it’s not that exotic of an ingredient. Chances are your store will have it in the Asian section. I eat a lot differently than I used to. I still eat the same foods but I eat them differently. Let me explain. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Daniel and I used to eat the exact same. Then if I was going to add a veggie I would sprinkle a bit on, add a bit of meat sauce and then add a lot of cheese. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now I focus on the meat and veggies but also add the other stuff. Growing up I remember coming downstairs on Sunday mornings to muffins or cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. I didn’t think about how they got there or how it was timed pretty perfectly for when my sisters and I were done getting ready for church. ⭕️THE MUSCLES BEFORE/DURING/AFTER⭕️ . . I wanted to make this as simple as possible for people to understand. A lot of people are unaware of what happens to the muscles during exercise. . . The muscle is in good condition (the first photo) before you start your resistance training. During that resistance training process, your muscles aren’t physically growing at that point but they are being damaged (the middle photo) or suffering from certain level of micro trauma due to the physical stress you are applying to it. After that damage, you feel sore which was a result of the stress you applied to that muscle. . . After you rest and recover, your muscles will have gotten bigger and stronger. Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, muscle growth takes TIME! You have to be patient, it’s not an overnight process. If you want great gains, I suggest you REALLY prioritize your training, nutrition, and sleep. If you want mediocre gains, just keep winging it 🤷🏽‍♂️ . . Hope that helps 💪🏽

In a large bowl using a hand-held mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream the butter. Then add sugar until mixture is fluffy, and finally beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Beat the flour, baking powder and salt into the wet ingredientsuntil combined. Chill the dough for 30 minutes. 2. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 12-inch pizza. Press the chilled cookie dough onto the pizza pan until its even and circular. Bake 18-20 minutes or until the edges are very lightly browned. Allow crust to cool. 3. In a medium bowl using a hand-held mixer or stand mixer fitted with whisk attachment, combine the cream cheese, Greek yogurt, powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Maple Glazed Chicken Wings & garlic rice w/ peas 🍁🍗🍚💚 • • What I used: @traderjoeslist -2lb of organic chicken wings -1/4 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, juice of half a lemon, garlic powder, salt and pepper (wing coating) -2/3 cup of maple syrup, 2 tsps of coconut aminos, tablespoon of minced garlic, pepper (glaze) -Organic basmati white rice -English peas -Scallions -Garlic powder, salt & olive oil • • What I did: -Preheated oven to 400°, sprayed baking sheet with olive oil spray, mixed coating ingredients together in a bowl, mixed wings with coating and baked for about an hour. I turned them once about halfway through. -About 10 minutes before the wings were done I combined the glaze ingredients into a small sauce pan, brought it to a boil then let it simmer until it thickened a bit. -I tossed the wings in a large bowl with the glaze and let it sit for 10 minutes. -I made the white rice according to the instructions, I steamed the peas and then mixed the rice and peas in a pan with olive oil, garlic powder and salt.
