Preparing yourself to quit- Keep your list on your person and read it several times a day to motivate yourself to quit. Choose a date on which you want to quit and stick to it. Between now and that date, keep a log of your smoking habits: record the times at which you ‘light up’, where you then were, what you were doing, and how you were feeling. Use this log to gain a better understanding of your smoking habits. I'm sorry i share my meals alot but this is kinda what's helping me right now and I hope maybe it inspires others to recover or helps. My one downside I'm restricting still not to hard. But I'm also fighting my binge eating urges and it's diffcult. So yes fruits and veg by the ton right now. Popsicles jello gum etc.. So for my meal here small baby butter nut squash this is my second one bout two cups or so. You don’t owe anyone your story. If you are a practitioner, it doesn’t need to live in your bio. If you are a survivor of something, you don’t need to disclose your history or narrative. ✿ Can it be healing to share a story or experience? Yes, of course. But only if you choose to— people will try to guilt you with that whole “sharing your story will set you free! share your story and help lift the shame and stigma!” thing. ✿ Shrug that pressure to be a changemaker off your shoulders. Only share your story if and when it feels safe to do so. And as you probably know, it doesn’t always feel safe to do so. For those of us with stories, getting through is challenging enough. Why add more pressure? ✿ So hold your story close and trust in your timing. Whether you share or not, make that choice for you. ✿

Sometimes it feels like the “price” we must pay for loving our children intensely is equally intense anxiety. That’s what my mental illness looks like. This week is Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week and I wanted to be open and honest about my own struggles because it is quite common and we need to “normalise” speaking up and seeking help. There’s often a deep fear that by reaching out you might be seen as a bad parent, but left untreated sometimes can have very devastating consequences so it’s up to us as a collective society to support each other. The first time I experienced something outside my normal happy-go-lucky personality was being pregnant with my first child and being diagnosed with #gestationaldiabetes and then having to start injecting myself with insulin. I felt like I had failed already and he wasn’t even born yet! Talking to my midwife, talking to other women in the same situation and giving the PANDA hotline a call helped me get through. Then when my second baby was born I fell in love with that sweet little baby so intensely; it felt like it was a very quick pregnancy (I didn’t know I was pregnant until 12 weeks) and then her birth was fast and intense (a total of 44 minutes!) so everything felt like a huge rush and not real. My anxiety manifested itself in intrusive thoughts about how this couldn’t possibly be real and how she was going to die. Pretty intense stuff. It’s not a nice thing to be constantly worrying about your baby. It really robs you of enjoyment, of being able to sleep when you have the opportunity. You can’t just gaze longingly at their little face and tiny features without a feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach and your brain saying things like “today is the day she is going to die”. Fortunately for me I was able to cope with this by distracting myself with my love of baking. *Continued in comments*

This past weekend I had the joy of accompanying some very brave souls as they journeyed inward for their healing. . In thinking of some of the concepts we wanted to bring forward, I decided to make a Doodle Doc handout. . This weekend baby B and I were showered with so much love! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I truly did not know it was possible to feel so much love for a little girl who hasn’t even blessed us with her presence but she is such a lucky little lady. Only 9 more weeks until she makes her arrival and we can finally see who she looks more like 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think she’ll have my hair and Paul’s eyes but we will have to wait and see! I hope you had a great day! Don’t forget to take time for yourself. If you feel burnt out or need to recharge try to take time to relax and self reflect. A couple things I like to do to stay mentally/emotionally healthy. • Journal • Read before bed or for quiet time • Draw/doodle • Make a bullet journal that can help keep track of notes, to-do lists, mood tracker • Keep track of your mood or emotion throughout the day to help you stay on top of stress and what may be causing it. I used to think I had to be "as light as snow" in order to be pretty enough, loveable enough, good enough, worthy enough... But really, all I was doing as I deprived myself, burning my energy like wood to keep me warm, was building up an ice storm in my body. Everything got cold. My insides ice. My skin grey. I made a spot in my bullet journal for dumb brain thoughts. I call them "thought cars"! My brain is a busy intersection and sometimes these thoughts come through as good ones and bad ones. Well the bad ones are just drunk drivers lol and the good ones need to go home. So I put them onto paper to help me manage my cars, and I can figure out which ones I need to worry about. Also added Flinch, my brain thing, since they are a conglomerate of emotions. Haha. Maybe this will help someone? •In 2013, I attempted to end my life and doctors told my dad had he not rushed me in when he did they don’t think I would of lived. It was horrific, devastating and unexpected. Following that I spent months in an inpatient unit working on myself and upon my release I spent 4 and a half years in a bunch of different therapies, groups, workshops and trialing different medications, I relapsed twice and cried more tears than I ever thought possible, it was so hard that sometimes I questioned the point in any of it. But during that time I’ve also, gained 3 nieces and 2 nephews, watched my dad retire, watched one of my bestfriends get married, got my first job, celebrated my 21st, celebrated my bestfriends 21sts, watched my bestfriend have her baby, become a godparent, travelled to Canada, gained 2 puppies, finally got my hair cut really short, finally got a double bed, rode a horse, learnt to drive, got my first and second car..I lived. And even though just over 6 months ago I had to go back to therapy (which I’m still in now), had to go back on medication and am currently in the middle of one of the worst periods of depression yet I lived. More on necessary plastics. Sometimes life is TOUGH, and as much as I would love to be one of those people who could handle my mental illness with therapy, mindfulness, yoga, all that good stuff. I used to be, and maybe in the future I will be. But right now, this is where I’m at. 6 plastic bottles for a week- and I’ll have to get another 5 next week. But, it’s a process. And as much as I wish these little guys could be biodegradable or easily recycled. They aren’t. But when I go into pharmacies for refills I usually ask if they can take my current bottle & refill it. I’ve never had anyone say no, who knows maybe they say yes and actually don’t. But. Maybe they do it. That also means that I have to be really on the ball when it comes to my refills, so not for everyone. But something to consider if you’re like me & in this position. But remember, mental health first, saving the world second. -K 🌏🌿💕

✨A N X I E T Y ✨ D E P R E S S I O N ✨ Why....? I feel people think this when they look at me ... You have a loving husband who works hard. 3 beautiful kids & a step child. Roof over my head & food in the cupboards. To be honest I struggled to understand when it first started. But I feel like it did just happen .. One day.. I just felt overwhelmed by everything... Life... Home... Work... Struggled on for what seemed like ages... Pretending to everyone I was OK.. I became 'THAT FRIEND' the one who would say yes I will be there but would never show up and cancel at the last minute... Wouldn't want anyone around my house in case they thought I couldn't look after my kids / home. Judge me if it was messy. I became isolated.. But that's how I wanted it... The thought of going out even on the school run or a shop was an absolute NO go.. What sort of parent was I of I didn't want to take my kids to school 😢 I'm still on my journey but am 50% better than what I was 12 months ago. It does take time and patience. Not just by you but the people around you that support you. Just remember if you have a friend or family member struggling. Always invite them.. Getting back into the swing of it. Despite the crushing vertigo from coming off Sertraline we made it and smashed an upper session. Not the prettiest and certainly not lifting the heaviest but when you’ve been out the game so long there’s gonna be a reduction of strength. Gotta keep it up. Love and peace
